Complex Back and Neck Pain

I have had 30 years experience in relieving the pain and suffering of people with neck and back problems. Three years working with spinal patients referred to orthopaedic surgeon, Michael Falkenberg (Spinal Assessment Service) has added to my expertise in understanding and managing patients with long-standing and complex spinal pain.

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Nerve problems caused by disc or other spinal issues

These all need an expert assessment and management plan. Exercise and self-management strategies will play an important role in your care.

Joint, Muscle and Tendon Issues

With extensive knowledge of tendon and muscle problems, my clinical experience with these complaints is that they are always manageable with the right treatment and advice.

  • Aching or arthritic joints.
  • Achilles
  • Patella Tendon
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Rotator cuff (shoulder)

Treatment advances in these complex problems are constantly evolving. My experience and ongoing learning ensures that I can provide you with the best and most up-to-date evidence-based management.

Sports Injury Diagnosis and Recovery

Working at AFL Club Carlton and with the elite under-18 AFL programs, I am at the cutting edge of sports injury management.

  • Knee ligament and meniscal injuries
  • Knee cap and patella tendon pain
  • Foot and ankle sprains
  • ACL tears
  • Hip, pelvis and groin problems
  • Hamstring, calf and other muscle injuries
  • Shoulder, elbow and wrist strains

All of these sports related problems require an accurate diagnosis and an understanding of the latest treatment and rehabilitation approaches to ensure a rapid and sustainable return to your sport.

Vertigo, Dizziness and Headaches

These often complex and inter-related problems require an advanced, thorough assessment to provide an understanding of your individual history.

Having done further training in vestibular physiotherapy I can identify those conditions which will respond to treatment and rehabilitation (or not) and provide that treatment where needed.
